Description
Subtract excludedTime from leftAt - enteredAt for dwell.
Time-window accounting separates gross duration, overlap, pauses, and eligible exposure. A fraction is interpretable only when its numerator and denominator use compatible intervals and units.
Subtract excludedTime from leftAt - enteredAt for dwell.
When to use this tool
Use Lead Stage Dwell Duration when you need to reconcile explicit durations or interval support.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter enteredAt, leftAt, excludedTime. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read dwell. Use the output convention below.
Require leftAt ≥ enteredAt and excludedTime within their duration. Subtract excludedTime from leftAt - enteredAt for dwell.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| enteredAt | Entered At | Required. Finite number. |
| leftAt | Left At | Required. Finite number. |
| excludedTime | Excluded Time | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| dwell | Dwell | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use one timestamp and duration unit; no calendar exclusions or overlapping pauses are inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use timestamped intervals to calculate overlap unions when summed durations and supplied corrections are insufficient.
