Campaign Exposure Frequency Cap Margin

Compare an explicit exposure count with a supplied frequency cap without tracking users or setting advertising policy.

Description

Separate remaining exposure capacity from excess above a supplied cap.

Campaign bookkeeping distinguishes actual records from supplied rules, discounts, retention assumptions and spending periods. Sequential discounts compound on changing bases, while an adstock update depends on a declared period and retention factor. A click flag or local score term does not establish consent, causal response or financial performance.

Separate remaining exposure capacity from excess above a supplied cap.

When to use this tool

Use Campaign Exposure Frequency Cap Margin when you already have recordedExposureCount, suppliedCap and need to separate remaining exposure capacity from excess above a supplied cap.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedExposureCount, suppliedCap. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read remainingBeforeCap, excessCount. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative safe whole exposure count/cap; return max(0,cap-count) and max(0,count-cap).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • No actual exposure, identity, privacy consent or platform cap is verified or enforced.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review original campaign events, offer terms and financial records for actual charges and statuses. Fit and validate a complete model when estimating response or retention; one supplied rule, price delta or pacing term does not provide that evidence.
