Description
Return height on a supplied planar roof.
Architectural curves, stairs and roof planes can be described by ideal radii, angles, linear slopes and reference heights. Arc length differs from chord length, and a plan diagonal differs from a sloping member’s length. These local geometry terms do not evaluate structural capacity or building requirements.
Return height on a supplied planar roof.
When to use this tool
Use Roof Plane Height Sample when checking the stated ideal curve, tread, slope or reference-plane term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter originHeight, x, y, xSlope, ySlope. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read height. Use the output convention below.
Return height on a supplied planar roof. height = originHeight+x*xSlope+y*ySlope.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Coordinates and slopes must share an origin/unit convention; actual roof geometry, support and drainage are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
