Description

Compare supplied diary interval boundaries in a common clock basis without inferring voiding function.

A research diary or bench measurement uses a defined observation window, clock, unit, and reference level. Missing timing, incomplete collection, and unverified measurements affect how a result can be interpreted. Record arithmetic and signal terms describe supplied data without establishing clinical status.

Compare supplied diary interval boundaries in a common clock basis without inferring voiding function.

When to use this tool

Use Voiding Diary Interval Gap when you need a research-record or bench calculation with already supplied measurements, units, and observation boundaries.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstEnd, secondStart, suppliedClockShift. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read gap, overlaps. Inspect overlaps before interpreting the associated values.

Return gap=secondStart+suppliedClockShift-firstEnd and overlaps when that shifted second start is strictly earlier than firstEnd.1

firstEndFirst EndRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • All values need a common time unit and an explicit shift sign convention. Touching times do not overlap, and the tool does not infer clock corrections, episode meaning, or clinical significance.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an appropriately validated measurement and analysis method for clinical interpretation. Verify diary completeness, clock conventions, and measurement units before combining these terms into a research summary.
