Urban Hose Reach Margin

Compare explicit hose length and required routed length without estimating routing or water pressure.

Description

Calculate hose reach margin along a supplied garden route.

City-garden planning combines nominal container geometry, route lengths, water masses, access sides and shared-resource accounting. A litre quantity becomes mass only with a density, while reach depends on the declared accessible sides. Simple margins and shares organize supplied measurements; material behavior, structural capacity and individual access needs require separate assessment.

Calculate hose reach margin along a supplied garden route.

When to use this tool

Use Urban Hose Reach Margin when you already have usableHoseLength, requiredRouteLength and need to calculate hose reach margin along a supplied garden route.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter usableHoseLength, requiredRouteLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read reachMargin, reachesUnderInputs. Inspect reachesUnderInputs before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative usable hose and required route lengths; return usable-required and whether usable>=required.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
usableHoseLengthUsable Hose LengthRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
requiredRouteLengthRequired Route LengthRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
reachMarginReach MarginRequired. Finite number.
reachesUnderInputsReaches Under InputsRequired. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The route is supplied; pressure, bends, obstacles, safe connection and actual irrigation coverage are not modeled.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Measure the actual bed, container and access routes before applying nominal dimensions. For roof loading or water delivery, use the full support or hydraulic calculation; reconcile volunteer and harvest records over one common accounting period.
