Grow Bag Fill Volume

Apply an explicit fill fraction to grow-bag capacity without selecting substrate or plant requirements.

Description

Separate filled and unfilled grow-bag capacity.

City-garden planning combines nominal container geometry, route lengths, water masses, access sides and shared-resource accounting. A litre quantity becomes mass only with a density, while reach depends on the declared accessible sides. Simple margins and shares organize supplied measurements; material behavior, structural capacity and individual access needs require separate assessment.

Separate filled and unfilled grow-bag capacity.

When to use this tool

Use Grow Bag Fill Volume when you already have capacityLiters, fillFraction and need to separate filled and unfilled grow-bag capacity.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter capacityLiters, fillFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read filledLiters, unfilledLiters. Use the output convention below.

Require capacityLiters>=0 and fillFraction in [0,1]; return capacity*fraction and capacity*(1-fraction).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Uses nominal supplied capacity; no settling, substrate mass, drainage or suitable filling level is estimated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Measure the actual bed, container and access routes before applying nominal dimensions. For roof loading or water delivery, use the full support or hydraulic calculation; reconcile volunteer and harvest records over one common accounting period.
