Understudy Cover Matrix

Compare caller-supplied expected and observed records for understudy cover matrix.

Description

Understudy cover auditing compares required performance-track labels with those declared covered.

Understudy cover auditing compares required performance-track labels with those declared covered. A covered label alone does not establish who can perform it or whether that person is available.1

Compare caller-supplied expected and observed records for understudy cover matrix.

When to use Understudy Cover Matrix

Use this tool to compare caller-supplied expected and observed records for understudy cover matrix.

Prepare the measurements or record lists for the intended production, performer, cohort or planning period. Confirm units, shared time/coordinate conventions and supplied targets.

How to use Understudy Cover Matrix and understand its results

  1. Prepare the measurements or record lists for the intended production, performer, cohort or planning period. Confirm units, shared time/coordinate conventions and supplied targets.
  2. Enter requiredTracks, coveredTracks using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read coveragePercent, matched, missing, unexpected. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
Input fieldMeaningValue type; see rules belowRequirement
requiredTracksRequired performance trackslist of stringRequired
coveredTracksCovered trackslist of stringRequired

Enter requiredTracks and coveredTracks lists. Trim labels, reject blanks, match case-insensitively with en-US lowercase and deduplicate. At least one required track is needed. Return matched/missing/unexpected labels and percentage. Duplicates retain the last trimmed display spelling at their first normalized-key position; an empty covered list is allowed.

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

Despite matrix in the title, inputs are two lists rather than a performer-by-role assignment matrix. Availability conflicts, qualifications and simultaneous coverage are not checked.

Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Wig Measurement Coverage: Audit wig measurement coverage. For a complementary task, use Thrust Sightline: Check thrust-stage seat sightlines against supplied angle and coverage targets.
