Description
Require lowerMiddle ≤ upperMiddle and select lower, upper, or their half-term average according to policy.
A statistic summarizes data under chosen conventions for missing values, ties, spread, and denominators. A component calculation uses the supplied values; it does not check whether the data collection or statistical model is appropriate.
Require lowerMiddle ≤ upperMiddle and select lower, upper, or their half-term average according to policy.
When to use this tool
Use Median Even Middle Pair Policy when you need one stated statistical component with explicit handling of boundary cases.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter lowerMiddle, upperMiddle, policy. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read median. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- The caller must supply the correct two sorted central values; no sample is sorted or checked for even cardinality.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
