Description
Total supplied morpheme counts for the recorded words of an utterance.
Speech records use different observational units: words, morphemes, tokens, time spans, frequency and symbol-code versions. A duration share differs from a count-based speech measure, and a transcription remains a supplied annotation. Recorded practice completion and communication preferences need their original assessment and consent context before clinical interpretation.
Total supplied morpheme counts for the recorded words of an utterance.
When to use this tool
Use Utterance Morpheme Count Input when you already have utteranceId, suppliedMorphemeCounts and need to total supplied morpheme counts for the recorded words of an utterance.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter utteranceId, suppliedMorphemeCounts. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read totalMorphemes, countedWords. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty utteranceId and nonnegative safe whole counts; sum counts as numbers and report array length as countedWords.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| utteranceId | Utterance Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| suppliedMorphemeCounts | Already annotated whole morphemes per counted word; no speech segmentation. | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| totalMorphemes | Safe numeric total; an unsafe sum is rejected. | Required. Safe integer. |
| countedWords | Counted Words | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The tool does not segment or transcribe speech. An empty array totals zero; an unsafe total is rejected by the output contract.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the original audio, transcription and annotation manual when counts or intervals need verification. Apply a complete instrument's stated scoring method for an assessment; retain source-defined word, morpheme, time and symbol conventions throughout.
