Description
Label the supplied flow and volume units of a spirometry record.
Respiratory records distinguish signal markers, gas-reference bases, collection validity codes and selected prediction equations. A supplied interval or zero subtraction is only one part of a measurement workflow. Unit labels and device-use discrepancies do not validate a maneuver, estimate a disease state or determine appropriate medication use.
Label the supplied flow and volume units of a spirometry record.
When to use this tool
Use Spirometry Flow Volume Unit Pair when you already have recordId, flowUnit, volumeUnit and need to label the supplied flow and volume units of a spirometry record.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordId, flowUnit, volumeUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty recordId, flowUnit and volumeUnit; format record; flow=unit; volume=unit.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recordId | Record Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| flowUnit | Flow Unit | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| volumeUnit | Volume Unit | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"flowUnit": "L/s",
"volumeUnit": "L"
},
"output": {
"label": "R17; flow=L/s; volume=L"

} Limitations and assumptions
- Units are literal labels, not parsed or converted; dimensional compatibility and test validity are not checked.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the original respiratory trace, acquisition protocol and reference-equation definition when interpreting a test. Keep gas-reference bases and supplied quality codes explicit; a zero subtraction, interval or counter discrepancy does not validate the complete measurement.
