Lung Volume BTPS Reference Label

Label a supplied lung-volume reference basis without converting gas conditions or certifying BTPS correction.

Description

Label a lung volume with its stated unit and gas-reference basis.

Respiratory records distinguish signal markers, gas-reference bases, collection validity codes and selected prediction equations. A supplied interval or zero subtraction is only one part of a measurement workflow. Unit labels and device-use discrepancies do not validate a maneuver, estimate a disease state or determine appropriate medication use.

Label a lung volume with its stated unit and gas-reference basis.

When to use this tool

Use Lung Volume BTPS Reference Label when you already have recordId, volume, unitText, statedBasis and need to label a lung volume with its stated unit and gas-reference basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordId, volume, unitText, statedBasis. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty recordId/unitText/statedBasis and volume>=0; format record; volume unit [basis].1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The label performs no BTPS/STPD conversion, pressure/humidity correction or clinical interpretation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original respiratory trace, acquisition protocol and reference-equation definition when interpreting a test. Keep gas-reference bases and supplied quality codes explicit; a zero subtraction, interval or counter discrepancy does not validate the complete measurement.
