Prosthetic Crown Bench Thickness Ratio Tool

Compare concentric cylindrical bench crown dimensions.

Description

Compare concentric cylindrical bench crown dimensions.

Dental laboratory and prosthetic research records distinguish measured dimensions, reference targets, material quantities, and evidence flags. Ratios and residuals depend on those measurement conventions. An idealized bench term or metadata match is separate from fabrication quality and clinical fit or suitability.

Compare concentric cylindrical bench crown dimensions.

When to use this tool

Use Prosthetic Crown Bench Thickness Ratio when you need the stated laboratory, bench, geometry, or device-record term from already supplied measurements or annotations.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter outerRadius, innerRadius, height. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read wallThickness, radiusRatio, shellVolume. Use the output convention below.

Return wallThickness=outerRadius-innerRadius, radiusRatio=innerRadius/outerRadius, and shellVolume=pi*(outerRadius²-innerRadius²)*height. Require positive outer radius, bounded nonnegative inner radius, and nonnegative height.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is a hollow cylindrical sidewall model without end caps. It does not represent anatomical crown geometry, determine safe thickness, or assess material strength or clinical suitability.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements and an appropriate complete geometric, material, or laboratory method when the task requires more than one bench term. Clinical suitability requires a separate professional assessment.
