Description

Compare explicit research point separation with a supplied geometric allowance without clinical design guidance.

Dental laboratory and prosthetic research records distinguish measured dimensions, reference targets, material quantities, and evidence flags. Ratios and residuals depend on those measurement conventions. An idealized bench term or metadata match is separate from fabrication quality and clinical fit or suitability.

Compare explicit research point separation with a supplied geometric allowance without clinical design guidance.

When to use this tool

Use Prosthesis Clearance Point Gap when you need the stated laboratory, bench, geometry, or device-record term from already supplied measurements or annotations.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstPoint, secondPoint, requiredClearance. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read distance, residual. Use the output convention below.

Calculate Euclidean distance between aligned two- or three-component points and return residual=distance-requiredClearance. Require nonnegative required clearance.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Coordinates and clearance share a length unit and reference frame. This is one supplied point pair, not minimum surface clearance, full geometry analysis, or an established safe clinical gap.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements and an appropriate complete geometric, material, or laboratory method when the task requires more than one bench term. Clinical suitability requires a separate professional assessment.
