Description
Require 0 ≤ jointProbability ≤ positive conditioningProbability ≤ 1 and divide joint by conditioning for conditionalProbability.
Probabilities lie between zero and one, while likelihoods and logarithms depend on the event model and the logarithm base. A single event term requires the documented endpoint convention and does not establish the quality of a fitted model.
Require 0 ≤ jointProbability ≤ positive conditioningProbability ≤ 1 and divide joint by conditioning for conditionalProbability.
When to use this tool
Use Conditional Probability Denominator Check when you need one probability or likelihood component from supplied model values.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter jointProbability, conditioningProbability. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read conditionalProbability. Use the output convention below.
Require 0 ≤ jointProbability ≤ positive conditioningProbability ≤ 1 and divide joint by conditioning for conditionalProbability.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- This validates one nested event pair, not an entire joint distribution or a causal relationship.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
