Description
Label a sample's supplied below-quantification flag.
Pharmacokinetic records distinguish concentration, amount, elapsed time, dilution basis and assay quantification status. Multiplying concentration by compatible volume gives an amount, while a first-order decay factor assumes a supplied constant rate. These local terms and labels do not estimate a person's drug exposure or establish a dose, therapeutic threshold or safe medication decision.
Label a sample's supplied below-quantification flag.
When to use this tool
Use PK Below Quantification Label when you already have sampleId, reportedText, belowQuantification and need to label a sample's supplied below-quantification flag.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sampleId, reportedText, belowQuantification. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label. Use the output convention below.
Require sampleId/reportedText nonempty; append below quantification when flagged, otherwise quantified.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sampleId | Sample Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| reportedText | Reported Text | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| belowQuantification | Below Quantification | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"input": {
"sampleId": "S17",
"reportedText": "\u003c0.5",
"belowQuantification": true
},
"output": {
"label": "S17; \u003c0.5 [below quantification]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- No lower quantification limit is checked and no replacement value is imputed; a false flag is a label, not proof of quantification.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified assay data and an appropriate complete pharmacokinetic model for exposure analysis. Keep dilution, concentration/amount units, sampling time and quantification conventions attached to the observations; a scalar decay or limit comparison does not estimate a regimen.
