Herbal Marker Dry Mass Correction

Convert an explicit as-received marker mass fraction to dry basis under a supplied wet-basis moisture fraction.

Description

Convert an as-received marker fraction to a dry-mass fraction.

Botanical analytical records connect voucher identities, plant parts, extraction wording, moisture basis and marker units. A dry-basis fraction uses dry mass as its denominator, while a printed drug-extract ratio still needs its stated basis. Source labels and arithmetic do not authenticate a medicinal plant, establish potency or determine safe herbal use.

Convert an as-received marker fraction to a dry-mass fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Herbal Marker Dry Mass Correction when you already have asReceivedMarkerFraction, moistureFraction and need to convert an as-received marker fraction to a dry-mass fraction.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter asReceivedMarkerFraction, moistureFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dryBasisMarkerFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require markerFraction in [0,1], wet-basis moisture in [0,1) and markerFraction<=1-moisture; return marker/(1-moisture).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Marker and water fractions must describe the same received mass; the tool does not identify a botanical, validate an assay or determine potency or safety.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original voucher, analytical method, moisture basis and reference-material documentation. Botanical identity, extraction basis and marker quantity require their own evidence; a recorded ratio or mass-basis conversion does not establish equivalence or medicinal suitability.
