Curriculum Standards Alignment
Audit which curriculum standards have lesson alignments and report coverage.
Description
Standards alignment counts distinct standards assigned to at least one lesson.
Standards alignment counts distinct standards assigned to at least one lesson. Repeated lesson-standard pairs do not increase the number of covered standards.1
Audit which curriculum standards have lesson alignments and report coverage.
When to use Curriculum Standards Alignment
Use this tool to audit which curriculum standards have lesson alignments and report coverage.
Prepare the lesson timeline, roster, observations or assessment labels requested. Use consistent units and exact identifiers, then choose comparison criteria appropriate to the activity.
How to use Curriculum Standards Alignment and understand its results
- Prepare the lesson timeline, roster, observations or assessment labels requested. Use consistent units and exact identifiers, then choose comparison criteria appropriate to the activity.
- Enter standardIds, lessonIds, alignedStandardIds using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read uncoveredStandardIds, coveredStandardCount, alignmentPercent. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| standardIds | Standard ids | list of string | Required |
| lessonIds | Lesson ids | list of string | Required |
| alignedStandardIds | Aligned standard ids | list of string | Required |
Enter nonempty distinct exact standards and equal-length lesson/aligned-standard lists. Every aligned standard must be known; empty pair lists are allowed. Return uncovered IDs, covered count and percentage.
alignment%=100 distinct aligned standards/standardCount Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| uncoveredStandardIds | Uncovered standard ids | list of string |
| coveredStandardCount | Covered standard count | number |
| alignmentPercent | Alignment percent | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Lesson IDs can repeat and are not validated for substance. The tool does not verify instructional depth or the correctness of a claimed alignment.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Curriculum Visibility Audit: Distinguish explicitly taught, unplanned observed, and omitted planned topics. For a complementary task, use Assessment Blueprint Coverage: Audit test-item counts against objectives and a caller-selected coverage minimum.
