Description

Convert a signed supplied bench flow with explicit volume and elapsed-time factors.

Voice and airflow research records use sample rates, frame windows, cycle boundaries, event clocks, unit conversions, and laterality labels. A data-support fraction or signed difference has a specific convention and denominator. These calculations operate on supplied records rather than an audio, respiratory, or vestibular examination.

Convert a signed supplied bench flow with explicit volume and elapsed-time factors.

When to use this tool

Use Nasal Airflow Unit Factor when you need this sample, frame, cycle, timing, airflow, or laterality component for supplied research records.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedFlow, volumeFactor, timeFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read convertedFlow. Use the output convention below.

For positive volumeFactor and timeFactor return convertedFlow=recordedFlow*volumeFactor/timeFactor.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Factors are target volume units per source volume unit and target time units per source time unit. Signed flows are preserved; the tool does not infer unit names, calibrate a sensor, or interpret airflow clinically.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated acquisition and a documented signal-analysis or assessment protocol when a local conversion is insufficient. Verify sample rate, frame boundaries, clock corrections, and record annotations.
