Description
Measure a recorded motion angle relative to a supplied zero.
Research and visit records distinguish quoted claims, observation codes, comparator descriptions, raters and recorded cointerventions. A metadata link or protocol-review flag is not evidence of efficacy or a validated clinical finding. Time labels and coordinate offsets preserve supplied conventions without assessing a person or recommending an intervention.
Measure a recorded motion angle relative to a supplied zero.
When to use this tool
Use Osteopathic Motion Zero Offset when you already have referenceZeroDegrees, recordedDegrees and need to measure a recorded motion angle relative to a supplied zero.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter referenceZeroDegrees, recordedDegrees. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.
Return recordedDegrees-referenceZeroDegrees as signedGap.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| referenceZeroDegrees | Reference Zero Degrees | Required. Finite number. |
| recordedDegrees | Recorded Degrees | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| signedGap | Signed Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No motion is observed or adjusted; the offset does not validate palpation, treatment claims or clinical interpretation.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original research protocols, comparator definitions and recorded observations for study interpretation. Assess reported findings and efficacy through the relevant evidence rather than treating a preserved claim, rater order or visit-duration label as validation.
