Description
Classify an explicitly supplied ocular record label under disjoint caller-provided vocabularies.
Vision research uses stimulus angles, chart notations, image scales, viewing distances, coordinate origins, and observation windows. These quantities have different denominators and measurement conventions. A conversion or support share does not independently establish a visual measurement or its clinical interpretation.
Classify an explicitly supplied ocular record label under disjoint caller-provided vocabularies.
When to use this tool
Use Ocular Laterality Label Token when you need this image, stimulus, notation, coordinate, or observation component for supplied research data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter token, leftTokens, rightTokens, bothTokens. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read laterality. Use the output convention below.
Require the supplied leftTokens, rightTokens, and bothTokens vocabularies to be disjoint across categories. Return left, right, or both on exact token membership, otherwise unknown.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| token | Token | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| leftTokens | Left Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| rightTokens | Right Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| bothTokens | Both Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| laterality | Exact supplied vocabulary classification, or unknown. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Repeated tokens within one category are allowed. Labels are caller-supplied and case-sensitive; no anatomy, clinical laterality, record identity, or universal OD/OS convention is independently verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated acquisition and a documented visual or imaging protocol for complete interpretation. Confirm the reporting notation, viewing geometry, image scale, and support of the underlying observations.
