Description
Resolve an exact specimen legend code while preserving its caller-supplied source label.
Oral laboratory and research records use specimen labels, model coordinates, material quantities, event times, and device identifiers. A matching label or dimensional clearance answers a narrower question than verified anatomy, traceability, or clinical suitability. Source identity, reference frames, and measurement units must remain explicit.
Resolve an exact specimen legend code while preserving its caller-supplied source label.
When to use this tool
Use Specimen Site Legend Source Flag when you need this specimen-record, device-label, timing, material, or model-geometry check.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter siteCode, legendCodes, legendLabels, legendSource. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read known, label, source. Inspect known before interpreting the associated values.
Require aligned legendCodes and legendLabels with unique codes. Find siteCode by exact equality and return known, the associated label or an empty placeholder, and the original legendSource.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| siteCode | Site Code | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| legendCodes | Legend Codes | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| legendLabels | Legend Labels | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| legendSource | Legend Source | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| known | Whether siteCode exists in the supplied legend; inspect even if label is empty. | Required. Boolean. |
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| source | Source | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- An empty mapped label can be valid, so inspect known. The legend is supplied rather than authenticated, and no anatomical site, patient record, or clinical interpretation is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use authenticated records and the intended laboratory or measurement protocol for the full task. Verify source labels, coordinate frames, calibration, and the limits of the supplied physical model.
