Description

Reflect explicit scan coordinates and a supplied laterality tag together.

Oral laboratory and research records use specimen labels, model coordinates, material quantities, event times, and device identifiers. A matching label or dimensional clearance answers a narrower question than verified anatomy, traceability, or clinical suitability. Source identity, reference frames, and measurement units must remain explicit.

Reflect explicit scan coordinates and a supplied laterality tag together.

When to use this tool

Use Oral Surgery Scan Mirror Laterality Pair when you need this specimen-record, device-label, timing, material, or model-geometry check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter side, mirrored, coordinates, midline. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read side, coordinates. Use the output convention below.

Accept side as left, right, or midline. If mirrored, swap left/right labels, retain midline, and map each coordinate to 2*midline-coordinate; otherwise preserve both side and coordinates.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • All coordinates refer to one axis and unit. The mirror operation does not infer image orientation, verify a patient's actual side, or perform a full three-dimensional anatomical registration.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use authenticated records and the intended laboratory or measurement protocol for the full task. Verify source labels, coordinate frames, calibration, and the limits of the supplied physical model.
