Description

Descriptive research diameter change and instrument-resolution units, without response criteria, staging or a clinical decision.

Research lesion records distinguish measured dimensions, geometric size models, censoring conventions, assessment denominators, and follow-up timing. An axis product, percent change, or coverage measure describes only its stated inputs and model. Such arithmetic does not automatically implement a clinical response criterion or validate a study.

When to use this tool

Use Tumor Research Diameter Percent Change when you need this research measurement, assessment-base, source, or event-time calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter baselineDiameter, followupDiameter, measurementResolution. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read absoluteChange, percentChange, resolutionUnits. Use the output convention below.

For positive baselineDiameter and measurementResolution and nonnegative followupDiameter return absoluteChange=followup-baseline, percentChange=100*change/baseline, and resolutionUnits=change/resolution.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use one length unit. PercentChange is a percentage numeral, while resolutionUnits is a signed increment count; no tolerance, measurement uncertainty, tumor-response classification, or treatment recommendation is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the intended study protocol and a complete measurement or analysis model for a broader conclusion. Verify lesion definitions, censoring, measurement correspondence, time anchors, and missing-assessment policy.
