Description

Compare supplied image-axis measurements to an explicit projection factor, without response assessment.

Research lesion records distinguish measured dimensions, geometric size models, censoring conventions, assessment denominators, and follow-up timing. An axis product, percent change, or coverage measure describes only its stated inputs and model. Such arithmetic does not automatically implement a clinical response criterion or validate a study.

Compare supplied image-axis measurements to an explicit projection factor, without response assessment.

When to use this tool

Use Tumor Axis Reference Plane Gap when you need this research measurement, assessment-base, source, or event-time calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter measuredAxis, projectedAxis, suppliedProjectionFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read expectedProjection, signedGap. Use the output convention below.

For nonnegative measuredAxis and projectedAxis and suppliedProjectionFactor in [0,1] return expectedProjection=measuredAxis*factor and signedGap=projectedAxis-expectedProjection.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Lengths need one unit and the factor is supplied rather than derived from orientation. No plane is fitted, lesion is measured, or clinical projection accuracy established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the intended study protocol and a complete measurement or analysis model for a broader conclusion. Verify lesion definitions, censoring, measurement correspondence, time anchors, and missing-assessment policy.
