Description

Normalize one supplied trial observation timestamp relative to an explicit research anchor.

Research lesion records distinguish measured dimensions, geometric size models, censoring conventions, assessment denominators, and follow-up timing. An axis product, percent change, or coverage measure describes only its stated inputs and model. Such arithmetic does not automatically implement a clinical response criterion or validate a study.

Normalize one supplied trial observation timestamp relative to an explicit research anchor.

When to use this tool

Use Trial Observation Time Offset when you need this research measurement, assessment-base, source, or event-time calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observationTime, anchorTime, suppliedClockOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read relativeTime. Use the output convention below.

Return relativeTime=observationTime-suppliedClockOffset-anchorTime.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • All times and offset need one unit and origin, with offset defined as recorded-clock minus the anchor clock. Negative values are retained; actual clocks, event chronology, study endpoints, and clinical interpretation are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the intended study protocol and a complete measurement or analysis model for a broader conclusion. Verify lesion definitions, censoring, measurement correspondence, time anchors, and missing-assessment policy.
