Occupational Goal Importance Rating

Record an explicitly reported occupational-goal importance rating under supplied scale bounds without judging priorities.

Description

Normalize a user's recorded occupation-goal importance within supplied endpoints.

Occupational-therapy records preserve the user's stated roles, goals, assistance and task context. Time shares and normalized preferences depend on their declared denominator or scale, while prompt counts are observations rather than measures of independence by themselves. Device geometry and loan balances need verified source records before broader interpretation.

Normalize a user's recorded occupation-goal importance within supplied endpoints.

When to use this tool

Use Occupational Goal Importance Rating when you already have goalId, reportedRating, lowerBound, upperBound and need to normalize a user's recorded occupation-goal importance within supplied endpoints.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter goalId, reportedRating, lowerBound, upperBound. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label, fractionalPosition. Use the output convention below.

Require goalId nonempty, upper>lower and rating within the bounds; return (rating-lower)/(upper-lower) and preserve the rating label.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is a scale coordinate, not clinical urgency, treatment benefit or a validated comparison between scales.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original activity record, client-stated priorities and assessment instrument for a substantive assessment. Inspect actual devices and inventory when fit, condition or availability matters; scalar offsets and record counts preserve narrower facts.
