DHCP Lease T1 T2 Order Gap Tool

Calculate dhcp lease t1 t2 order gap from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Check the strict relation t1 < t2 < leaseSeconds.

Protocol timers compare elapsed time with advertised deadlines. Inclusive expiry tests, renewal thresholds, and signed timer gaps answer different questions and should not be conflated.

Check the strict relation t1 < t2 < leaseSeconds.

When to use this tool

Use DHCP Lease T1 T2 Order Gap when you need an explicit lease or advertisement timer calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter leaseSeconds, t1, t2. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read ordered, renewalGap, rebindGap. Inspect ordered before interpreting the associated values.

Check the strict relation t1 < t2 < leaseSeconds. Return the signed differences t2 - t1 and leaseSeconds - t2.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative gaps and a false ordered flag are valid diagnostic output; timers are not repaired automatically.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Track the actual protocol state and monotonic clock, then apply the protocol's transition rules.
