Dialysis Bench Dialysate Volume Term Tool

Bench fluid inventory from explicit nominal flow and active time, without specifying treatment flow or fluid composition.

Description

Multiply flowPerMinute by activeMinutes for flowVolume, add primeVolume for totalInputVolume, and subtract recoveredVolume for unrecoveredVolume.

A concentration-times-volume term represents an amount, and dividing an amount by time produces a rate. Clearance-like ratios also require compatible reference concentrations.

Multiply flowPerMinute by activeMinutes for flowVolume, add primeVolume for totalInputVolume, and subtract recoveredVolume for unrecoveredVolume.

When to use this tool

Use Dialysis Bench Dialysate Volume Term when you need a research or bench rate from explicit measurements.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter flowPerMinute, activeMinutes, primeVolume, recoveredVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read flowVolume, totalInputVolume, unrecoveredVolume. Use the output convention below.

Multiply flowPerMinute by activeMinutes for flowVolume, add primeVolume for totalInputVolume, and subtract recoveredVolume for unrecoveredVolume.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use one volume basis; negative unrecoveredVolume is permitted and should prompt a measurement/convention review.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check dimensional consistency and measurement provenance, and use a validated domain model for biological interpretation.
