Description
Subtract outletConcentration × outletFlow from inletConcentration × inletFlow for removedMassRate.
A concentration-times-volume term represents an amount, and dividing an amount by time produces a rate. Clearance-like ratios also require compatible reference concentrations.
Subtract outletConcentration × outletFlow from inletConcentration × inletFlow for removedMassRate.
When to use this tool
Use Dialysis Bench Clearance Flow Balance when you need a research or bench rate from explicit measurements.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter inletConcentration, outletConcentration, inletFlow, outletFlow. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read removedMassRate, inletEquivalentClearance, extractionFraction. Use the output convention below.
Subtract outletConcentration × outletFlow from inletConcentration × inletFlow for removedMassRate. Divide by inletConcentration for clearance and separately return 1 - outletConcentration / inletConcentration.1

| outletConcentration | Outlet Concentration | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| inletFlow | Inlet Flow | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| outletFlow | Outlet Flow | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| removedMassRate | Removed Mass Rate | Required. Finite number. |
| inletEquivalentClearance | Inlet Equivalent Clearance | Required. Finite number. |
| extractionFraction | Extraction Fraction | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use matching concentration and flow units; unequal flows are retained and negative removal or extraction can occur. No patient kinetics are modeled.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
