Description

Add nonnegative integer gestationAtBirthDays and chronologicalAgeDays.

Age is a difference between an event and a selected origin. Gestational, chronological, corrected, and source-record coordinates can differ even when expressed in the same time unit.

Add nonnegative integer gestationAtBirthDays and chronologicalAgeDays.

When to use this tool

Use Neonatal Record Postmenstrual Age Anchor when you need to compare explicit age origins or recorded time coordinates.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter gestationAtBirthDays, chronologicalAgeDays, recordedDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read postmenstrualDays, discrepancyDays, weeks, days. Use the output convention below.

Add nonnegative integer gestationAtBirthDays and chronologicalAgeDays. Split the sum into whole weeks and remaining days; return recordedDays minus that sum as discrepancyDays.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This compares recorded age conventions only; it does not determine gestational age or assess development.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Keep the original timestamps and age definitions, and confirm the intended convention with the relevant clinical or research protocol.
