Neonatal Age Hour Precision Token Tool

Bound elapsed hours from supplied absolute-time birth precision without clinical age categories.

Loading tool…

Description

Subtract its upper bound for ageHoursLower and its lower bound for ageHoursUpper.

Age is a difference between an event and a selected origin. Gestational, chronological, corrected, and source-record coordinates can differ even when expressed in the same time unit.

Subtract its upper bound for ageHoursLower and its lower bound for ageHoursUpper.

When to use this tool

Use Neonatal Age Hour Precision Token when you need to compare explicit age origins or recorded time coordinates.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter birthHourLower, birthHourUpper, observationHour. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read ageHoursLower, ageHoursUpper. Use the output convention below.

Require an ordered birth-hour interval ending no later than observationHour. Subtract its upper bound for ageHoursLower and its lower bound for ageHoursUpper.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The interval is propagated arithmetically; it is not a confidence interval and no date/time parsing is done.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Keep the original timestamps and age definitions, and confirm the intended convention with the relevant clinical or research protocol.
