Description
Add missingWeight to observedWeight only when includeMissing is true and return denominator.
Missing observations and zero weights affect both the error sum and its normalization. A denominator policy must be paired with a compatible numerator policy.
Add missingWeight to observedWeight only when includeMissing is true and return denominator.
When to use this tool
Use Weighted Error Denominator Missing Case when you need an explicit missing-weight or contribution component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observedWeight, missingWeight, includeMissing. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read denominator. Use the output convention below.

| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observedWeight | Observed Weight | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| missingWeight | Missing Weight | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| includeMissing | Include Missing | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| denominator | Denominator | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Both weights are nonnegative; this chooses a denominator without constructing or validating a matching error numerator.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Build and inspect numerator and denominator over the same documented support set before reporting an aggregate metric.
