Description
Return error × weight and weight when present is true; otherwise return zero for both numerator and denominator.
Missing observations and zero weights affect both the error sum and its normalization. A denominator policy must be paired with a compatible numerator policy.
Return error × weight and weight when present is true; otherwise return zero for both numerator and denominator.
When to use this tool
Use Weighted Absolute Error Missing Weight Term when you need an explicit missing-weight or contribution component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter error, weight, present. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read numerator, denominator. Use the output convention below.
Return error × weight and weight when present is true; otherwise return zero for both numerator and denominator.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Error and weight are nonnegative; zero contribution denotes exclusion rather than evidence of a correct prediction.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
