Description
Return audibleTokens plus inaudibleMarkers when includeInaudible is true as denominator.
Media proportions depend on whether the denominator includes excluded material, inaudible markers, duplicated roles, or only eligible duration. These choices answer different analytical questions.
Return audibleTokens plus inaudibleMarkers when includeInaudible is true as denominator.
When to use this tool
Use Transcript Inaudible Count Base when you need a media-study proportion with an explicit counting basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter audibleTokens, inaudibleMarkers, excludedMarkers, includeInaudible. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read denominator, inaudibleShare. Use the output convention below.
Return audibleTokens plus inaudibleMarkers when includeInaudible is true as denominator. Independently divide inaudibleMarkers by audibleTokens + inaudibleMarkers for inaudibleShare.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| audibleTokens | Audible Tokens | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| inaudibleMarkers | Inaudible Markers | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| excludedMarkers | Nonnegative validated metadata count; unused by both returned formulas. | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| includeInaudible | Include Inaudible | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| denominator | Denominator | Required. Safe integer. |
| inaudibleShare | Inaudible Share | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- ExcludedMarkers is validated but does not enter either formula; the share denominator is fixed regardless of includeInaudible.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the coding protocol and source material, and report excluded or uncertain annotations separately.
