Survey Unaided Aided Recall Gap Tool

Compare recall on a common supplied denominator; aided counts need not contain unaided counts.

Description

Divide unaided and aided counts by positive respondents and return (aided - unaided) / respondents as gap.

Marketing rates compare a counted outcome with a declared cohort or exposure base. Reentries, exclusions, and distinct funnel stages can change the denominator substantially.

Divide unaided and aided counts by positive respondents and return (aided - unaided) / respondents as gap.

When to use this tool

Use Survey Unaided Aided Recall Gap when you need a transparent cohort or exposure ratio.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter respondents, unaided, aided. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unaidedFraction, aidedFraction, gap. Use the output convention below.

Divide unaided and aided counts by positive respondents and return (aided - unaided) / respondents as gap.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Both counts are independently bounded by respondents; the gap is fractional, not percentage points, and paired-response overlap is not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
