Description
Lowercase parameterName and return value unchanged.
Web tracking parameters and link tokens have spelling and matching conventions. Formatting or detecting a parameter does not measure attribution, verify a campaign, or establish how a service will interpret the final URL.
Lowercase parameterName and return value unchanged.
When to use this tool
Use Single Utm Parameter Case Normalizer when you need one supported URL-parameter or link-token component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter parameterName, value. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read normalizedName, preservedValue. Use the output convention below.
Require a case-insensitive utm_ prefix followed by one or more ASCII letters, digits, or underscores. Lowercase parameterName and return value unchanged.1

{
"input": {
"parameterName": "UTM_Source",
"value": "EmailCampaign"
},
"output": {
"normalizedName": "utm_source",
"preservedValue": "EmailCampaign"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- This normalizes one name without parsing a URL, encoding a value, validating an analytics vocabulary, or changing case-sensitive values.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Parse the complete URL or link and verify the intended analytics or search-service behavior separately.
