Description
Split existingRel on whitespace and append sponsored.
Web tracking parameters and link tokens have spelling and matching conventions. Formatting or detecting a parameter does not measure attribution, verify a campaign, or establish how a service will interpret the final URL.
Split existingRel on whitespace and append sponsored.
When to use this tool
Use Sponsored Link Rel Token when you need one supported URL-parameter or link-token component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter existingRel. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read rel. Use the output convention below.
Split existingRel on whitespace and append sponsored. Deduplicate case-insensitively while preserving the first spelling and order of each token, then join with single spaces.1
Google identifies sponsored as the relationship value for advertisements and paid placements. Adding that token describes the link relationship; it does not verify the commercial arrangement or change the destination.2
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| rel | Case-insensitively deduplicated token list containing sponsored. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"input": {
"existingRel": "nofollow external"
},
"output": {
"rel": "nofollow external sponsored"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- This returns a rel value without parsing HTML, checking a URL, verifying sponsorship disclosure, or guaranteeing search-engine treatment.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Parse the complete URL or link and verify the intended analytics or search-service behavior separately.
