Description

Subtract hard and soft bounces from sent for delivered.

Marketing rates compare a counted outcome with a declared cohort or exposure base. Reentries, exclusions, and distinct funnel stages can change the denominator substantially.

Subtract hard and soft bounces from sent for delivered.

When to use this tool

Use Email Bounce Hard Soft Denominator when you need a transparent cohort or exposure ratio.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sent, hardBounces, softBounces, excludeSoft. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read delivered, denominator, bounceFraction. Use the output convention below.

Subtract hard and soft bounces from sent for delivered. Normally divide their sum by sent; when excludeSoft is true divide hardBounces by sent - softBounces and require a positive denominator.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The exclusion policy changes both numerator and denominator; bounce classification and delivery logs are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
