Decision Weight Swing One Criterion Tool

Calculate decision weight swing one criterion from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return their difference as swing and multiply it by weight for weightedSwing.

Weights, counts, and capacities determine an allocation only under a chosen normalization and rounding policy. A conserved total does not establish fairness or suitability.

Return their difference as swing and multiply it by weight for weightedSwing.

When to use this tool

Use Decision Weight Swing One Criterion when you need one explicit allocation or weight-change calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter lowScore, highScore, weight. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read swing, weightedSwing. Use the output convention below.

Require highScore ≥ lowScore and nonnegative weight. Return their difference as swing and multiply it by weight for weightedSwing.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The score scale and weight are supplied; no normalization, preference elicitation, or multicriteria decision is performed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
