Overdue Charge Closed Day Exclusion Tool

Grace and closed days are supplied as disjoint excluded counts, with an explicit fee cap.

Description

Subtract graceDays and closedDays from elapsedDays, multiply by dailyCharge, and cap at suppliedCap.

A cost term combines quantities with rates on a consistent currency and time basis. A supplied multiplier or reimbursement changes accounting without determining an entitlement or market price.

Subtract graceDays and closedDays from elapsedDays, multiply by dailyCharge, and cap at suppliedCap.

When to use this tool

Use Overdue Charge Closed Day Exclusion when you need an explicit labor, time, or project-cost component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter elapsedDays, graceDays, closedDays, dailyCharge, suppliedCap. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read chargeableDays, uncapped, charge. Use the output convention below.

Subtract graceDays and closedDays from elapsedDays, multiply by dailyCharge, and cap at suppliedCap. Return chargeableDays and uncapped amount too.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Day exclusions and policy are supplied; a zero cap means zero charge and no actual calendar or lending rule is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the full cost model and relevant contractual or payroll policy before treating a component as a final charge.
