Description
Add outbound and inbound for postage.
A cost term combines quantities with rates on a consistent currency and time basis. A supplied multiplier or reimbursement changes accounting without determining an entitlement or market price.
Add outbound and inbound for postage.
When to use this tool
Use Interlibrary Loan Postage Share when you need an explicit labor, time, or project-cost component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter outbound, inbound, borrowerFraction, handling. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read postage, borrowerCharge, libraryCost. Use the output convention below.
Add outbound and inbound for postage. Assign borrowerFraction of postage plus all handling to borrowerCharge and the remainder of postage to libraryCost.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Handling is charged entirely to the borrower in this formula; actual loan policy, currency rounding, and postage rates are supplied externally.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the full cost model and relevant contractual or payroll policy before treating a component as a final charge.
