Granule Sieve Cumulative Increment Crosswalk Tool

Convert explicit monotone cumulative sieve masses into incremental fractions.

Loading tool…

Description

For ascending data subtract the previous cumulative value, starting at zero; for descending subtract the next, ending at zero.

Powder density and sieve calculations depend on preparation, tapping, size boundaries, and reporting direction. Computing an index does not choose a validated procedure or acceptance category.

For ascending data subtract the previous cumulative value, starting at zero; for descending subtract the next, ending at zero.

When to use this tool

Use Granule Sieve Cumulative Increment Crosswalk when you need a supplied powder-density or sieve-data crosswalk.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter cumulative, descending. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read increments, total. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty nonnegative cumulative values ordered according to descending. For ascending data subtract the previous cumulative value, starting at zero; for descending subtract the next, ending at zero.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Ordering is explicit and totals are not required to equal one or 100; this crosswalk does not validate sieve recovery or particle measurements.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Follow the applicable validated test method and interpret results against approved material-specific criteria.
