Flow Gate Boundary Count Tool

Count one-dimensional research gate membership under explicit boundary inclusion flags.

Description

Count values inside using the independently supplied boundary-inclusion flags, count exact boundary equalities, and derive outside as total minus inside.

Immune-assay data can contain raw signals, blanks, gated event counts, dilution labels, and research thresholds. Their units and denominators differ, and arithmetic on supplied values is separate from assay validation or clinical interpretation.

Count values inside using the independently supplied boundary-inclusion flags, count exact boundary equalities, and derive outside as total minus inside.

When to use this tool

Use Flow Gate Boundary Count when you need one transparent research-assay calculation or event-accounting check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter values, lower, upper, lowerIncluded, upperIncluded. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read inside, onLower, onUpper, outside. Use the output convention below.

Require ordered lower and upper thresholds. Count values inside using the independently supplied boundary-inclusion flags, count exact boundary equalities, and derive outside as total minus inside.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Values and limits use one signal scale; equality is exact, and a zero-width gate may count the same events on both boundary counters.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
