Flow Compensation One Spillover Term Tool

One explicit linear spillover subtraction from supplied signals, not a complete inverse compensation matrix or spectral unmixing.

Description

Multiply sourceSignal-sourceBlank by nonnegative spilloverFraction for spillover, then subtract that contribution from targetMeasured.

Immune-assay data can contain raw signals, blanks, gated event counts, dilution labels, and research thresholds. Their units and denominators differ, and arithmetic on supplied values is separate from assay validation or clinical interpretation.

Multiply sourceSignal-sourceBlank by nonnegative spilloverFraction for spillover, then subtract that contribution from targetMeasured.

When to use this tool

Use Flow Compensation One Spillover Term when you need one transparent research-assay calculation or event-accounting check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter targetMeasured, sourceSignal, spilloverFraction, sourceBlank. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read spillover, correctedTarget. Use the output convention below.

Multiply sourceSignal-sourceBlank by nonnegative spilloverFraction for spillover, then subtract that contribution from targetMeasured.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The coefficient is not capped at one. This is one compensation term, not a complete matrix correction; target blank correction, calibration, and negative-value interpretation remain separate.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
