Description
Return observation-baseline and mark foldDefined when baseline is nonzero.
Immune-assay data can contain raw signals, blanks, gated event counts, dilution labels, and research thresholds. Their units and denominators differ, and arithmetic on supplied values is separate from assay validation or clinical interpretation.
Return observation-baseline and mark foldDefined when baseline is nonzero.
When to use this tool
Use Cytokine Baseline Zero Domain when you need one transparent research-assay calculation or event-accounting check.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter baseline, observation. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read foldDefined, fold, difference. Inspect foldDefined before interpreting the associated values.
Return observation-baseline and mark foldDefined when baseline is nonzero. Divide observation by baseline when defined, otherwise return fold zero as a placeholder.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Signed inputs are allowed; a successful numeric fold is not necessarily a positive biological fold change, and the zero-baseline flag must be read first.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
