Description
Compare recorded seats with a supplied party size.
Hospitality records distinguish seating count, booking category, reset time, package prices and stock flows. A tax fraction based on net differs from a tax share of gross, and a seat count does not prove a usable layout. Supplies, service preferences and dietary allocations need verified operational records.
Compare recorded seats with a supplied party size.
When to use this tool
Use Restaurant Waitlist Party Size Margin when you already have availableSeats, partySize and need to compare recorded seats with a supplied party size.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter availableSeats, partySize. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read seatMargin, fitsByCount. Inspect fitsByCount before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative safe whole counts; return seats-party and seats>=party.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- A count match does not establish a table layout, reservation, access, safe occupancy or actual availability.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile actual reservations, layouts, service preferences, invoices and inventories for operational questions. Apply the full menu, tax and dietary requirements when local counts, buffers or pricing terms cannot establish availability or suitability.
