Description

Divide nonnegative sharedTotal by positive integer diners, add nonnegative personalItems, and multiply by one plus nonnegative serviceFraction.

Hospitality charges depend on the unit of service, inclusion rules, deposits, commissions, and tax bases. Operation order can change an amount, while arithmetic alone does not establish contract terms or liability.

Divide nonnegative sharedTotal by positive integer diners, add nonnegative personalItems, and multiply by one plus nonnegative serviceFraction.

When to use this tool

Use Restaurant Split Bill Fixed Item Share when you need one supplied billing or cost component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sharedTotal, diners, personalItems, serviceFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read sharedShare, personDue. Use the output convention below.

Divide nonnegative sharedTotal by positive integer diners, add nonnegative personalItems, and multiply by one plus nonnegative serviceFraction.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • One currency is assumed and the fraction applies to both shared and personal items; no tax policy, tip convention, fairness rule, or payment rounding is selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the result with booking terms, actual invoice rules, taxes, and monetary rounding.
