Description
Combine nonnegative originalCharge and cancellationFee, subtract deposit and otherCredit, and split the signed remainder into nonnegative balanceDue or refund.
Hospitality charges depend on the unit of service, inclusion rules, deposits, commissions, and tax bases. Operation order can change an amount, while arithmetic alone does not establish contract terms or liability.
Combine nonnegative originalCharge and cancellationFee, subtract deposit and otherCredit, and split the signed remainder into nonnegative balanceDue or refund.
When to use this tool
Use Balance Due Deposit Cancellation Credit when you need one supplied billing or cost component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter originalCharge, cancellationFee, deposit, otherCredit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read balanceDue, refund. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- All amounts share one currency; arithmetic does not establish cancellation rights, refund eligibility, tax treatment, or a final invoice.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the result with booking terms, actual invoice rules, taxes, and monetary rounding.
