Banquet Guaranteed Actual Cover Gap Tool

Use an explicit maximum-of-guarantee-and-actual charging convention.

Description

Choose the larger of nonnegative guaranteed and actual covers, multiply by nonnegative unitCharge, and return any unused guaranteed covers.

Hospitality charges depend on the unit of service, inclusion rules, deposits, commissions, and tax bases. Operation order can change an amount, while arithmetic alone does not establish contract terms or liability.

Choose the larger of nonnegative guaranteed and actual covers, multiply by nonnegative unitCharge, and return any unused guaranteed covers.

When to use this tool

Use Banquet Guaranteed Actual Cover Gap when you need one supplied billing or cost component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter guaranteed, actual, unitCharge. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read billedCovers, unusedGuarantee, total. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Amounts share one currency; this applies supplied guarantee arithmetic without establishing enforceable billing terms, taxes, or exceptions.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the result with booking terms, actual invoice rules, taxes, and monetary rounding.
