BED Linen Change Stock Return Balance

Reconcile explicit clean-linen stock and issue counts using exact integer arithmetic.

Description

Calculate a clean-linen balance after returns and issues.

Hospitality records distinguish seating count, booking category, reset time, package prices and stock flows. A tax fraction based on net differs from a tax share of gross, and a seat count does not prove a usable layout. Supplies, service preferences and dietary allocations need verified operational records.

Calculate a clean-linen balance after returns and issues.

When to use this tool

Use BED Linen Change Stock Return Balance when you already have openingCleanPieces, returnedCleanPieces, issuedPieces and need to calculate a clean-linen balance after returns and issues.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter openingCleanPieces, returnedCleanPieces, issuedPieces. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read closingBalance. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative safe whole counts; compute opening+returned-issued using BigInt and export a safe integer.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
openingCleanPiecesOpening Clean PiecesRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
returnedCleanPiecesReturned Clean PiecesRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
issuedPiecesIssued PiecesRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative balances are retained and unsafe outputs rejected; cleanliness, actual stock and service adequacy are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile actual reservations, layouts, service preferences, invoices and inventories for operational questions. Apply the full menu, tax and dietary requirements when local counts, buffers or pricing terms cannot establish availability or suitability.
